A Triumph of Excellence: Godfrey Okoye University’s 11th Convocation Marks Milestones and Achievements

In a celebration of academic prowess and institutional growth, the upcoming 11th convocation of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu is set to confer certificates upon 404 graduates. The ceremony, slated for Saturday, 18th November 2023, promises to be a momentous occasion for the university community.
The revelation came from the esteemed Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, during a press briefing on the convocation.
Professor Anieke shared the breakdown of the graduating class, with 12 individuals achieving the coveted 1st class honors, 138 securing second class upper division certificates, and 220 earning distinctions with second class lower division certificates. Additionally, 34 graduates will be honored with 3rd class, while 46 postgraduate students are set to receive their well-deserved certificates.
Highlighting the academic zenith, the Vice Chancellor proudly announced the overall best graduate, Somtochukwu Obi, an outstanding accounting graduate from the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.
The university’s main campus is abuzz with activity, with the Vice Chancellor revealing that both the office of the Vice Chancellor and the College of Medicine are now fully operational. Exciting developments are on the horizon, as the School of Nursing is poised to commence, and the university’s bakery has already begun full-scale operations.
An ambitious project is underway at the main campus, as construction has commenced on one of the largest oxygen plants in Nigeria, promising to be a crucial addition to the university’s infrastructure.
In a testament to academic excellence, Reverend Father Professor Anieke shared that Godfrey Okoye University has climbed the ranks, now holding the esteemed position of the 5th best private university in Nigeria. He confidently predicted a further ascent, asserting that the university is on course to become the country’s top-ranking institution.
The Vice Chancellor also announced notable achievements on the global stage. Students from Godfrey Okoye University Enugu have secured admission to the prestigious Nigerian Law School. The DNA Learning Centre, situated on the main campus, has embarked on a mission to train scientists in Ghana and other African countries.
Proudly concluding, Reverend Father Professor Anieke highlighted the university’s global collaborations, with active partnerships with 90 universities across different continents.
Over 100 graduates of Godfrey Okoye University are making significant strides in various parts of the world, a testament to the institution’s commitment to producing globally competitive and impactful professionals.
