Eid-al-Fitr: Enugu State Govt. felicitates with Muslims

Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah has celebrated the Eid-al-Fitr with the Muslim faithful, and charged them to imbibe the spirit of Peace, Love, tolerance, sacrifice, charity and togetherness.

Correspondent Jude Ezike report that The governor gave the charge yesterday at the Enugu Central Mosque Owerri road when he joined the Muslim faithful to mark the end of Ramadan fast which started on March 1, 2025.

Dr Mbah who told the Muslim community that his administration does not discriminate against anyone irrespective of religion and gender, promised to make Enugu a home for all.

 the governor assured that no part of the state would be left behind in the provision of social amenities, and called on the Muslim faithful to support the security initiatives of his administration in order to have a safe society.

Dr Mbah further assured that the Muslim Pilgrims Board would be constituted soon as requested by the Hausa community in the state.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Sariki Hausawa of Enugu, Alhaji Yusuf Sambo while appreciating the governor for his all inclusive governance in the state, advocated peaceful co-existence with various religions in order to foster the needed development.

While admonishing Muslim faithful abstain from  violence, backbiting, hatred and prejudice, Alhaji Sambo noted that the month of Ramadan according to Islamic calendar was when the Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Mohammed.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Giwa who described the celebration as significant as it was marked on Sunday being a day for Christians, pledged his commitment to protecting lives and property of the people through the audacious security initiatives of the state government.
