Godfrey Okoye University, Emerges the Best Private University in the South East and Among the Best Ten in Nigeria

Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu has emerged the best private university in the Southeast Nigeria and one of the best ten in Nigeria.
Godfrey Okoye University which was established by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu got its operational license on 3rd November 2009 from the National Universities Commission.
The new list of ten best private universities in Nigeria is contained in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings and Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
Others in the list of ten best private universities in Nigeria are Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State; American University of Nigeria, Yola, Adamawa State; Skyline University Nigeria, Kano State; and Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State.
Also in the list are Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun state; Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State; Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State; Lagos Business School-Pan Atlantic University, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos; and First Technical University. Ibadan, Oyo State.
In a reaction, The Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, Rev. Fr. Prof. Dr. Christian Anieke noted with appreciation, the international recognitions of the university by several organisations across the globe.
Times Higher Education and Webometrics Ranking of World Universities commended the vision of Godfrey Okoye University which is to produce graduates who would be outstanding in learning, balanced in character, personality and ready to pursue epistemic unity in all its ramifications.
The organisations use thirteen standardized performance indicators to rank universities.
The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income, and reputation); Citations (research influence)
International outlook (staff, students, and research); and Industry Income (knowledge transfer).
Webometrics Ranking of World Universities covers more than 28,000 Higher Education Institutions worldwide that are strongly based on volume and quality of the contents published on the Web.
