Godfrey Okoye University Enforces Strict Anti-Criminal Policy, Warns Students of Expulsion

Enugu, Nigeria – In a resolute declaration, the Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, has announced stringent measures to combat criminal activities within the institution and its affiliated group of institutions. Speaking at the opening of a student orientation session, Reverend Father Professor Anieke made it unequivocally clear that any student found engaged in criminal activities would face expulsion, regardless of their academic status or sponsorship.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized that offenses such as theft, fighting, involvement in cultism, fraudulent activities, or online scams, commonly known as “yahoo, yahoo,” would all carry the same severe consequences. Additionally, he underlined the strict prohibition of students leaving the campus without prior authorization, warning that any student found loitering outside the institution’s campuses without official approval would be apprehended without hesitation.
Reverend Father Professor Anieke further disclosed a new policy wherein students who violate the institution’s rules and regulations will be required to invite their sponsors to the university for explanation and written undertakings before their cases are reviewed. Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of adhering to the institution’s dress code, requiring all students to be properly attired in faculty uniforms.
In a move to reinforce accountability, the Vice Chancellor announced that student affairs officers would now bear responsibility for any cases of misbehavior that are not promptly reported to the university authorities.
To bolster security on campus and deter criminal activities, Reverend Father Professor Anieke revealed the provision and installation of new security equipment at strategic locations across the various campuses within the group of institutions. These measures are expected to aid in tracking and preventing the actions of deviant individuals and criminal behavior.
Following Reverend Father Professor Anieke’s address, students received guidance and advice from the Deans of the various faculties and colleges within Godfrey Okoye University and its affiliated institutions. The university’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and disciplined academic environment is evident in these strict measures aimed at deterring criminal activities and ensuring the well-being of its students.
