Godfrey Okoye University Enugu Donates University Produced Hand Sanitizers to Enugu State Government

Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu has donated hand sanitizers produced by the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences of the University to the Enugu State government as its contribution to support the government in its fight against Corona virus pandemic in the state.
Presenting the hand sanitizers to the Deputy Governor of the State, Barr. Cecilia Ezeilo, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, represented by the Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Environmental Studies of the University, Associate Prof. Marian Unachukwu stated that the hand sanitizers compounded and manufactured by the University is a unique product in effective prevalence of the spread of the corona virus.
The Deputy Governor who received the items on behalf of the State Government thanked the Vice Chancellor for the donation and the economic contributions made, as the production of the sanitizers will generate jobs and boost the economy of the state.
Associate Professor, Marian Unachukwu in her remarks stated that the University manufactured hand sanitizer contains jesimia cola, lemon grass and dongoyaro extracts as its herbal components with alcohol and other ingredients which destroys and kills bacteria.
She stated that the uniqueness of the product is in its effectiveness as it lasts for a longer period compared to other hand sanitizers.
She noted that the University has a record of producing formulas to fight bacteria like diseases dated back to 2014 during the Ebola outbreak and it is not relenting until the war against Coronavirus is won.
