GOU KICKS OFF 12TH CONVOCATION ACTIVITIES WITH A HOLY MASS

About 400 graduates of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu are to receive degrees and other certificates during the 12th convocation of the university.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke announced this during a Holy Mass to mark the commencement of the activities for the convocation.

He revealed that the events which include Holy Masses, Competitions, Gouni Marathon, inaugural and convocation lectures would take place at the Thinkers Corner and Main campus of the institution.

In a sermon during the Holy Mass, the Priest urged the faithful to cultivate the spirit of sacrifice and gratitude so as to receive God’s blessings.

He noted with appreciation, the continuous growth of the university since its inception in 2009 and expressed gratitude to God and the late President Yaradua for signing the licence for the establishment of the university.

The Vice-Chancello stated that despite the poor economic situation in Nigeria, the management of the university had continued to improve the welfare of the workers of the institution.

Reverend Father Professor Anieke noted with regrets that some people behaved like the scribes by taking biased decisions against others.

The Holy Mass was attended by the Pro-chancellor, Professor Christian Nwachukwu Okeke, principal officers, Deans and professors and some other staff and students of the university.

Godfrey Okoye University Radio 106.9 FM launched in 2014 as a campus radio station and began operation on the 21st of October, 2015 through the effort of our formidable Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Dr. Christian Anieke supported by the Senate of the University to serve as a broadcast medium to inform, educate, entertain and enlighten the host community and the general public.
