Graduates Urged to Use Talents for God’s Glory and Shun Idol Worship

Graduates from the nation’s tertiary institutions have been encouraged to use their talents to glorify God and avoid idol worship. This advice was imparted by the Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, during a sermon at a Thanksgiving Holy Mass organized for the final year students of the university. The event took place at Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy, located at the Thinkers Corner Enugu campus of the university.

In his sermon, Reverend Father Professor Anieke urged the faithful to consistently speak out against societal evils despite the numerous challenges they face. He also advised Nigerians to steer clear of lobbying for positions and the excessive pursuit of material wealth, suggesting instead that they pray for God’s grace to sustain them as long as He wills.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the graduating students to become agents of reconciliation and unity within their homes and communities, emphasizing the importance of working against societal evils. The Thanksgiving Holy Mass and subsequent party were well-attended by the principal officers of the university, marking a significant moment of reflection and celebration for the outgoing students.
