National league praise new competition debuting next month
Chairman of the Nigerian National League (NNL), George Aluo, has described the 1XBet Cup slated to debut next month as a welcome contribution to the country’s grassroots football development.
Aluo, who said the championship, which kicks off on October 3, will unearth hidden talents from different parts of the country, advised clubs in all levels of football to key into the programme in their hunt for fresh talents.
The 1XBet Cup is a 40-team grassroots football championship, which will hold at various centres across Lagos State.
Winners of the championship will get N1 million star prize, while the runners up will earn N500,000, just as the third placed team will take N300,000.
