Thinkers Corner road to be completed soon

The Twenty four roads being constructed in Thinkers Corner, Enugu by the Enugu State Government are to completed within the next three months.

The Commissioner for Works, Gerald Otiji announced this while addressing residents of the area shortly after a Holy Mass at the Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy, Godfrey Okoye University, to commemorate Mothers Sunday.

Engineer Otiji explained that the 24 roads at Thinkers Corner were part of about 384 roads to be constructed by the State government, out of which, 131 were recently flagged off by the State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah.

The Commissioner appealed to the members of the Chaplaincy and residents of the area to pray for the governor to achieve all his promises to the people of the state.

In a remark, the Rector of the Chaplaincy and Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke commended Governor Mbah for acquiring three aircraft for the take off of the Enugu Airline.

In a sermon during the Holy Mass, Reverend Father Professor Anieke said that as the church celebrates jubilee year this year, the faithful should demonstrate their willingness for a new beginning by purifying themselves so as to receive forgiveness from God.

The priest urged the people to do all they could and identify with Jesus Christ so that God would reconcile them with His son.

Reverend Father Professor Anieke expressed the hope that the day gave Mothers and their husbands the determination to pray and work together for the welfare of their children and families.

In their responses, the leaders of the Catholic Women and Men Organizations of the Chaplaincy expressed gratitude to the State government for embarking on road projects

They thanked Reverend Father Professor Anieke for the gift of wrappers to each member of CWO and CMO of the Chaplaincy every year.
