Truth and Talents Highlighted at Godfrey Okoye University nursery & primary school’s Graduation Ceremony
Enugu, Nigeria – Correspondent Godwin Umeh reports.
Christians are reminded of the importance of honesty as a fundamental principle of their faith, with the assurance that “the truth will set them free.” This message was emphasized by Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, during a Holy Mass celebrating the graduation of pupils from the University’s Nursery and Primary Schools.
In his address, Reverend Father Professor Anieke encouraged the faithful to utilize their talents in the service of God, asserting that this is the surest way to receive further blessings from the Almighty. He also underscored the significance of nursery and primary education as the foundational stages in a child’s academic journey. He commended the headteacher, Mrs. Ujunwa Ajibo-Eze, and the entire staff for their dedication to providing quality education to the pupils.
The outgoing Headboy, Tagbo Chukwuemeka, delivered an address in which he urged his peers to uphold the virtues of respect, endurance, support, and perseverance, values that the school community holds in high esteem.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Ajibo-Eze praised the pupils’ positive attitudes, attributing their success to these qualities and noting that they stood out among their peers from other schools. She also advised parents to closely monitor their children’s activities, especially their use of smartphones, to prevent them from being influenced by negative associations.
The event was a vibrant celebration featuring drama, dance, and speeches. It was well attended by parents, staff, and friends of the institution, all of whom joined in celebrating the achievements of the young graduates.
