Vice-Chancellor Celebrates 24 Years in Priesthood, Reflects on God’s Grace

“Priesthood is the grace of God in abundance and incredible mercy,” stated Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, as he reflected on his 24 years in the priesthood. Speaking with correspondent Godwin Umeh, Reverend Father Professor Anieke emphasized that priesthood is not earned by personal merit but is a divine calling known only to God.
Marking his 24th year as a priest, Reverend Father Professor Anieke attributed his achievements, both in his clerical duties and his role at the university, to God’s grace. “It is unbelievable what God has done, not because I am good, but to glorify God,” he remarked. He expressed his desire to be remembered as someone who loved God and lived by His grace.
Addressing young priests, the Vice-Chancellor reminded them that their calling is not by their own choice but by Christ’s selection to serve God. He shared his vision for Godfrey Okoye University, expressing his ambition for the institution to grow stronger and become a significant source of empowerment for young people.
Reverend Father Professor Anieke emphasized that the university embodies God’s grace in education, and he hopes that future generations will see it flourish and continue to be a beacon of strength and empowerment.
